Telephone numbers are no longer fixed to physical lines and the dynamics of VoIP allows users to instantantly appoint unlimited number types to suit their needs. 6Communications can offer you a wide range of telephone numbers to give you the flexibility and presence that a fixed line service simply cannot do.
We offer UK wide geographic and non-geographic telephone numbers along with local phone numbers from over 70 countries and thousands of cities.
We have our own OFCOM number allocations which means that you can choose from large pool of numbers from around the UK from London to Glasgow and Belfast.
The 0300 dialling code was introduced by telecoms regulator Ofcom in order to allow not-for-profit organisations, charities and public bodies to offer consumers a single point of contact nationally.
6Communications can provide these along with other specialist service numbering such as premium rate and revenue sharing.
International telephone numbers give you an instant flexible global presence.
Number Presentation or CLI Spoofing is also a service that 6Communications can offer customers. Number presentation or CLI spoofing is the the ability to manipulate the calling number display to another number, nominated or provided by the caller that can identify that caller or be used to make a return or subsequent call.
The new 0333 UK wide numbers have been introduced by Ofcom as an alternative number for personal and business users, who wish to offer their consumers a single, trusted point of contact.
As more and more of your customers are calling from mobiles, an 08 number can cost callers more due to these numbers not being included in price plans. Calls to 03 numbers will cost the same as calls to 01 and 02 prefixed numbers and will be included as part of any inclusive minutes or discount package, therefore allowing customers to call you for the same price as they would be charged for calls to standard geographic numbers while still allowing your national presence.
0800 freephone numbers are a fantastic and low cost way to increase sales calls to your business. Freephone numbers encourage customers to call you with no charge to themselves. Research has shown that 0800 numbers can increase calls to your business by 300%, this can increase sales leads and improve customer relations.
6Communications offers free 0843 telephone numbers, so you can have multiple numbers on your account. Maybe one for friends and family and another for business. Of course you have full control of where the calls to these numbers are sent. For example you may wish to use the Virtual PBX system that allows you to ring a group of extensions when a number is called or just one extension. You can also use the Caller ID Rewriting to identify which of these numbers has been called!

WHAT IS NUMBER PORTING?
Number porting is a change in the CP (Communications Provider) of a telephone number. Number porting does not change the allocated RH (Rangeholder) of a number, as the calls will always route through the RH systems.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN MY NUMBER PORTS?
When a number ports from an analogue or digital line, the original line is ceased. This means that any and all additional services on the telephone line will also be ceased, e.g broadband. Prefixing on analogue and digital lines (ISDN) from BT happens at the exchange level.
